Dr. Setareh Mokhtarani completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Melbourne in 2010, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Dentistry from Griffith University in 2015. Before becoming a dentist, she spent four years as an Oral Health Therapist in private practice, gaining extensive experience in preventive care, periodontal treatments, and paediatric dentistry.
Following her graduation, Dr. Setareh worked at Goulburn Valley Health Hospital in Shepparton for two years before returning to Melbourne. She now serves as Head of Unit at the Dental Teaching Clinic at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, where she leads and mentors dental students. She has also worked extensively in the Primary Care Unit, treating dental emergencies and trauma cases. Dr. Setareh has worked in private practice as a general dentist for over 10 years, treating a wide variety of cases with expertise and precision. Her clinical interests also include providing clear aligner therapy to help patients achieve straighter, healthier smiles. She is also qualified to administer muscle relaxant injectables, further enhancing her scope of practice.
Dr. Setareh is known for her gentle touch and calming nature, especially when working with anxious patients. She takes the time to listen and ensures that every patient feels at ease throughout their treatment. Committed to providing personalised, comprehensive care, she believes that good oral health is integral to overall well-being and works closely with patients to create treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.
Outside of the clinic, Setareh loves spending time with her young daughter, exploring Melbourne’s food scene, hiking, and traveling to new places to learn about their history and culture. She also remains committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education.
